On August 29, Bank of China announced that its Board Personnel and Compensation Committee has reviewed and approved the proposal to appoint Liu Chenggang as Vice President, agreeing to submit it to the Board of Directors for approval. Liu Chenggang's qualification to serve as Vice President of the bank is subject to approval by the National Financial Regulatory Administration.
According to his resume, Liu Chenggang was born in 1972 and joined Bank of China in 1994. From April 2024 to August 2025, he served as Deputy Chief Executive of BOCHK Holdings Limited, and from March 2022 to August 2025, he served as Chief Financial Officer of BOCHK Holdings Limited. From October 2018 to January 2022, he served as General Manager of Bank of China's Equity Investment and Comprehensive Business Management Department. From January 2017 to October 2018, he served as General Manager of Bank of China's Financial Management Department. From November 2015 to January 2017, he served as General Manager of Bank of China's Treasury. Previously, he held positions including Assistant General Manager and Director of Bank of China's Financial Markets Division, and Deputy General Manager (Acting) of Treasury. He graduated from Renmin University of China in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, obtained a Master's degree in Economics from the Graduate School of People's Bank of China in 1999, and earned a Master's degree in Applied Finance from Macquarie University in Australia in 2003. He holds the title of Senior Accountant and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
