RONGTA Technology (Xiamen) Group Co., Ltd. (“RONGTA TECH”) has announced plans to appoint HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited as its new external auditor, filling the vacancy that will arise once the current auditor is formally removed. The proposal will be put to a vote at an upcoming extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on a date yet to be disclosed.
The Audit Committee endorsed HLB after reviewing its governance, resource allocation and independence. Key considerations included HLB’s experienced leadership team—many of whom previously served in Big Four firms—its dedicated quality-control partner, and a bespoke audit approach that addresses the “Subject Transactions” flagged by the outgoing auditor.
HLB’s audit roadmap is structured around three phases: • July 2026: Transition preparations and risk assessment. • July–August 2026: Scope determination, internal-control evaluation and audit planning. • August–September 2026: Fieldwork, substantive testing and a review of the independent forensic investigation. Completion, internal quality review and reporting are targeted for October 2026, enabling RONGTA TECH to publish its delayed FY 2025 results on or before that month.
The proposed audit fee is approximately HK$2.83 million, reflecting the complexity of the Group’s operations and the additional procedures required in light of prior audit issues.
Shares of RONGTA TECH have been suspended since 1 April 2026 and will remain so until the annual results are released. The company will circulate detailed EGM materials to shareholders in due course and advises investors to exercise caution while trading remains halted.
