1月28日，据英国金融时报报道，马斯克据悉提议将SpaceX的IPO时间，定在一个罕见的行星连珠日与其生日重合之际。
五名知情人士透露，这家火箭制造商的目标是6月中旬进行IPO，届时木星与金星将在天空中显得异常靠近，形成“行星连珠”的天文现象，这将是三年多来的首次。
知情人士表示，选择6月的另一个原因是马斯克的生日——6月28日。这一不同寻常的安排凸显了马斯克对SpaceX的个人印记。但部分银行家和投资者认为6月的时间表过于紧张。他们补充说，任何IPO的成败还将取决于市场条件和情绪——在特朗普频繁威胁加征关税并试图影响美联储利率政策的背景下，这些因素比以往任何时候都更加难以预测。
知情人士称，SpaceX计划以约1.5万亿美元的估值筹集多达5000亿美元资金，这将使其成为史上最大规模的IPO，远超沙特阿美2019年290亿美元的募资额。
