Data from the ride-hailing regulatory information exchange system shows that as of August 31, 2026, a total of 402 ride-hailing platform companies across the nation have obtained operating permits, remaining flat compared to the previous month. The system recorded a total of 1.069 billion ride orders during August.
An analysis of August figures reveals several notable trends. Among the top 10 platforms by order volume, the order compliance rate—defined as the share of orders where both the driver and vehicle hold valid permits—ranked from highest to lowest as follows: Xihang Yueche, Ruqi Mobility, Jishi Yongche, Xiangdao Chuxing, T3 Mobility, Caocao Mobility, Sunshine Chuxing, Shouqi Yueche, Didi Chuxing, and Huaxiaozhu Chuxing. Meanwhile, ride-hailing aggregator platforms, which connect passengers with ride-hailing companies, completed 347 million orders, marking a 7.5% month-on-month increase in average daily orders. Their compliance rankings, from highest to lowest, were Didi Chuxing, Huaxiaozhu Chuxing, AutoNavi Taxi (Gaode Dache), Baidu Taxi, Ctrip Car (Xiecheng Yongche), Tencent Travel, and Meituan Taxi.
Looking at major cities, the compliance rate rankings from highest to lowest were Shenzhen, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Jinan, Chongqing, Qingdao, Nanjing, Nanning, Nanchang, Hefei, Fuzhou, Ningbo, Xining, Zhengzhou, Tianjin, Haikou, Changchun, Changsha, Shijiazhuang, Guiyang, Kunming, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Dalian, Urumqi, Shanghai, Yinchuan, Lhasa, Wuhan, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Harbin, Shenyang, and Beijing. Notably, 24 cities including Shenzhen, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Jinan, Chongqing, Qingdao, Nanjing, Nanning, Nanchang, Hefei, Fuzhou, Ningbo, Xining, Zhengzhou, Tianjin, Haikou, Changchun, Changsha, Shijiazhuang, Guiyang, Kunming, and Taiyuan achieved compliance rates above 80%.
In terms of month-on-month compliance improvement, Hohhot, Shijiazhuang, and Qingdao posted the strongest gains. Conversely, Changsha (-1.9%), Harbin (-2.8%), and Lanzhou (-3.4%) recorded the steepest declines.
