Chengdu High-tech Zone has secured a significant portion of Sichuan Province's recent recognitions for exemplary artificial intelligence applications. On July 3rd, it was announced that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has publicized its preliminary list of selected AI application model cases for 2025. A total of 18 cases from Sichuan Province made the list, with 10 of those hailing from Chengdu High-tech Zone, accounting for over half of the provincial total.
Application Coverage and Core Strengths
The ten selected cases from the zone are distinguished by their coverage across four key domains: industrial manufacturing, urban governance, public services, and healthcare. These cases are characterized by three core strengths: technological leadership, mature implementation, and strong potential for replication and broader adoption. The outcomes in each sector precisely address critical needs in urban industrial development, showcasing innovative achievements in applying "AI+" to empower a vast array of industries and deeply integrate digital and real economies.
Breakdown by Industry Domain
Industrial Manufacturing Track
Three cases were selected in this category, each targeting transformation challenges in high-end equipment, consumer electronics, and new display technologies. For instance, the Industrial Cloud Manufacturing (Sichuan) Innovation Center developed a vertical large language model and intelligent applications for high-end energy equipment R&D, creating China's first compressor-focused vertical domain model and an industrial software intelligent agent system, thereby charting a path for integrating industrial knowledge with AI. Hongfujin Precision Electronics established a full-link adaptive intelligent manufacturing system based on its lighthouse factory framework, covering over 10,000 devices and more than 300 production lines, achieving a 47% reduction in fault response time. Chengdu Koala Intelligence's MiniLED full-process optical intelligent inspection solution increased the production line first-pass yield from the industry average of 65% to 80%, effectively resolving mass production quality inspection challenges for display panels.
Urban Governance Track
This track also features three selected cases, covering scenarios in urban green buildings, critical urban infrastructure (lifelines), and police operational applications. China Southwest Architectural Design & Research Institute's building energy management intelligent agent uses deep integration of "domain knowledge + AI" to address pain points like the disconnect between data and mechanisms and the lack of algorithm interpretability. Sichuan Junyi Digital Technology developed a multi-hazard intelligent prevention and control system for utility tunnels, establishing an integrated closed-loop for disaster simulation, early warning, and response, thereby overcoming the shortcomings of traditional passive pipeline network protection. The AI Public Security Intelligent Agent Platform developed by Sichuan Lezheng Technology leverages a domestic computing infrastructure to integrate cross-departmental police data, enabling full automation in case analysis and process handling.
Public Services and Healthcare Tracks
Two cases were selected in each of these domains. A notable example is the sole education sector case selected in the province: Sichuan Shengxue Education Technology's AI Personalized Learning Machine. Utilizing over a hundred collaborative education intelligent agents, it creates a fully digitalized closed-loop for lesson preparation, teaching, and assessment, facilitating tailored education. Chengdu Yurui Innovation's SurgSmart Intraoperative Intelligent Surgical System, powered by a surgical comprehension large model, can identify surgical instruments in real-time and predict intraoperative risks, filling a gap in China for AI-powered quantitative assessment across the entire surgical process.
Regional AI Ecosystem and Future Plans
As a core area for both the National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Innovation Development Pilot Zone and the National Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Pilot Zone, Chengdu High-tech Zone has gathered over 700 AI-related enterprises. Among these, three companies have been listed in the MIIT's AI Top 100 ranking, forming an industrial ecosystem led by anchor firms and supported by collaborative small and medium-sized enterprises. Moving forward, the zone will prioritize scenario-driven development and promote industrial growth through application. It will support the large-scale replication and promotion of the selected model cases, thereby advancing the deep integration of AI technology to empower the real economy, public services, urban governance, and other sectors.
