The 2025 Hurun Rich List reveals that Zeng Yuqun, founder of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), has seen his wealth surge to 330 billion yuan, marking a remarkable 65% annual increase of 130 billion yuan. The 57-year-old battery magnate climbed two spots to rank 4th on this year's list.

Zeng's wealth growth primarily stems from the booming new energy vehicle market. Over the past year, CATL's stock price skyrocketed, driving its market capitalization to 1.4 trillion yuan - a 65% year-on-year increase.

The lithium battery giant reported strong financial performance in the first half of 2025, with revenue reaching nearly 180 billion yuan (up 7% YoY) and net profit hitting 32.4 billion yuan (33% growth). Its energy storage battery division contributed 28.4 billion yuan in revenue with a 25% gross margin.

In May 2025, CATL completed a secondary listing in Hong Kong, raising over 32.5 billion yuan in what became the territory's largest IPO in recent years. The company currently has seven executives on the rich list, including co-founder Huang Shilin and five other members. Zeng received approximately 6 billion yuan in dividends over the past year.

CATL maintains its position as the world's leading power battery supplier, capitalizing on the global transition to electric vehicles.
