Pony.ai reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of US$34.25 million, a 145.0 % year-on-year increase, driven by sharp gains in its Robotaxi and Intelligent Solutions segments.

Robotaxi revenue rose 395.4 % to US$8.57 million, supported by the commercial rollout of Gen-7 vehicles and initial income from joint-deployment partners. Fare-charging revenue within the segment expanded 456.5 % year-on-year. Robotruck revenue advanced 31.0 % to US$10.20 million, while Intelligent Solutions revenue—primarily Autonomous Domain Controller (ADC) shipments—grew 246.5 % to US$15.49 million.

Gross profit increased to US$5.56 million, with gross margin holding broadly steady at 16.2 %. Operating expenses rose 9.5 % to US$63.90 million as the company ramped up R&D and global expansion, leading to an operating loss of US$58.34 million. Net loss widened to US$53.51 million, versus US$37.38 million a year earlier; on a non-GAAP basis, net loss reached US$41.19 million.

The balance sheet remained strong with cash, cash equivalents, short-term investments and restricted cash of US$1.44 billion as of 31 March 2026, down from US$1.51 billion at year-end 2025, reflecting planned operating and R&D spending. Capital expenditure totaled US$12.46 million, largely for Gen-7 mass production, ADK inventory build-up, and data-center investments.

Operational metrics continued to improve. The Robotaxi fleet exceeded 1,700 vehicles by late May, registered users in China more than tripled year-on-year, and average weekly paid orders in May were 119 % higher than in January. Deployment was extended to Guangzhou’s core urban districts and commenced in Croatia, marking Pony.ai’s first European Robotaxi service; the company now operates in nine countries and four overseas markets are open to the public.

Reflecting the momentum, management raised 2026 targets: Robotaxi revenue is now expected to surpass 3.5 times 2025 levels (previously threefold), and year-end Robotaxi fleet guidance was lifted from 3,000 to more than 3,500 vehicles across over 20 global cities.

In the Robotruck division, long-haul operations continued to expand and Gen-4 mass production remains on schedule for the second half of 2026. The company also introduced a driverless light truck and recorded a more than five-fold year-on-year increase in ADC deliveries, broadening exposure to low-speed delivery, logistics and robotics applications.

Management reiterated its focus on safety, cost optimisation and operating leverage to support large-scale Level 4 autonomous deployment while pursuing the updated 2026 commercialization objectives.
