An emergency geological disaster response has been activated following a sudden debris flow that struck early on September 19 near the Shijia Gully Tunnel in Zhiliuhe Village, Gesala Township, Yanbian County, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province.

According to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Natural Resources' Geological Survey Management Department has initiated a Level IV geological disaster defense response, while the Sichuan Provincial Geological Disaster Prevention and Control Headquarters has activated a provincial-level Level III emergency response.

The Sichuan Provincial Department of Natural Resources has coordinated with the natural resources authorities of Panzhihua City and Yanbian County to guide rapid emergency response efforts, and has dispatched an expert working group to the disaster site.

Currently, local natural resources authorities have mobilized seven support vehicles and 30 professional technical personnel, carrying six sets of drones and other specialized equipment, to the affected area. The team is conducting emergency investigations, monitoring and early warning operations, and hidden danger assessments, while demarcating hazardous zones and assisting with on-site personnel management to provide technical support for rescue and disaster relief operations.
