New data released on Wednesday by the French automotive association PFA shows that Tesla's new vehicle registrations in France more than tripled in March compared to the same period last year, approaching the record high set just over two years ago. This figure indicates a sales recovery for the electric vehicle giant in the European market.

Tesla, the world's most valuable automaker by market capitalization, saw its market share in Europe nearly halve last year. This decline was influenced by factors including intensifying competition—particularly from Chinese brands—a lack of new models, and public reaction to the political stance of its CEO, Elon Musk.

France is the first European market to release monthly sales figures. Overall new vehicle registrations in France rose 12.9% year-on-year in March, reaching 173,634 units.

Tesla registered 9,569 new vehicles in France during March, representing a year-on-year increase of 203.10%. This figure was just slightly below the all-time high of 9,572 registrations set in December 2023.

For the first quarter, the company's registrations in France increased by 108%, reaching a total of 13,945 vehicles.
