At 7:30 AM Beijing time on February 5, Faraday Future (FF) held a product launch event for its first Embodied AI robots during the National Automobile Dealers Association conference in Las Vegas. FF founder, partner, and chief product and user ecosystem officer, as well as founder of LeEco, unveiled three series of EAI robots. The Futurist series is described as a full-size professional humanoid robot, designed as an all-around expert. The Master series is a sport-oriented humanoid robot, positioned as an intelligent movement specialist. The Aegis series is a security and companion quadruped robot featuring a standard four-legged structure with an optional four-wheel version. A wheeled-arm series is planned for release in the second quarter.
Pricing for the Futurist series starts at $34,990, the Master series begins at $19,990, and the Aegis series is priced from $2,499.
Online discussions surrounding the launch included comments such as "Why hasn't he returned to China yet?" and "It has a strong knockoff vibe." Others noted the tendency to follow the hottest industry trends.
FF has faced challenges from its IPO to near-bankruptcy. Last April, the founder reassumed the role of Co-CEO at FF in an effort to revitalize the company. Having accumulated substantial debt, the entrepreneur has not returned to China since leaving for the United States in July 2017 to pursue business ventures.
On January 8 this year, FF conducted a shareholder day event where it systematically outlined its 2026 strategy and officially introduced its Embodied AI robotics initiative. According to the company's presentation, FF aims for cumulative production and sales of 400,000 to 500,000 vehicles over five years, primarily from the FX Super One, FX 4, and other planned models, with key markets including the United States and the Middle East. The company targets achieving positive operating cash flow within three years through mass production and delivery of the Super One and FX 4 models, with a gross margin exceeding 20%.
