Beijing E-Town Accelerates Robotics Growth with Full-Chain Ecosystem Network

A full-chain ecosystem network linking robotics exhibition, research, production, and application has taken shape in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, also known as Beijing E-Town.

As the 2026 World Robot Conference prepares to open in Beijing on August 19, the Robot Mall 4S store in the E-Town has already drawn significant visitor traffic. Within its 4,000-square-meter space, more than 100 robotic products are showcased across vivid application scenarios. For healthcare and wellness, the store debuts an innovative combination of embodied intelligence with traditional Chinese medicine. For entertainment and cultural displays, it incorporates national-style elements such as Sichuan opera face-changing, tai chi, and martial arts, while expanding its lineup of bionic humanoid robots and other exhibits.

"The robotics industry generally struggles with mismatched supply and demand — companies must knock on doors one by one to find channels, while users have to shop around to evaluate robots," said Meng Yanpei, director of the commercial operations division at Beijing E-Town Robot Technology Industry Development Co., Ltd. "We have positioned Robot Mall as a platform for new product display, scenario validation, user experience, and market feedback, pushing more robots from 'exhibits' to 'products.'"

Since its launch, the Robot Mall 4S store has attracted over 100,000 visitors and generated more than 60 million yuan in revenue, connecting with over 150 channel partners. It has evolved from offering single robotic products to providing end-to-end comprehensive solutions for the robotics industry, exporting the "E-Town model" to other regions. Robot 4S stores and embodied intelligence 6S experience centers have both been established in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.

Liang Nan, ecological project operations director at Beijing E-Town Robot Technology Industry Development Co., Ltd., as well as head of the Future Machine Domain developer community and supply chain platform, explained that the community's distinctive features lie in its "full-stack" and "physical" approach. The Future Machine Domain developer community provides developers with an integrated industrial ecosystem combining online platforms, offline spaces, supply chain services, and incubation support. Developers can access a seven-dimensional resource matrix covering physical space, technical platforms, policy tools, exhibition and trading, scenario orders, capital support, and living amenities.

Currently, the Future Machine Domain E-Bot Hub online platform and mini-program are live, offering registered developers six core services: open-source databases, scenario matching, technical support, laboratory booking, data analysis, and social interaction, establishing an online collaboration platform for developers. The offline community, located in the Beijing Robotics Industry Park (E-Town), spans nearly 5,000 square meters and features shared laboratories, office areas, and other multifunctional zones. Developers can use experimental equipment and robot bodies for free or at low cost, while enjoying one-stop services such as supply chain prototyping and component selection. This enables developers to start from "one person, one machine" and gradually grow into innovative enterprises with market competitiveness.

Liang Nan noted that the Future Machine Domain has gathered over 22,000 developers across its ecosystem. All ten winning teams from the Yizhi Cup E-Town Embodied Intelligence Developer Challenge, held in Beijing E-Town, have moved into the offline community to iterate their solutions. During the 2026 World Robot Conference, the Future Machine Domain will collaborate with multiple industry partners to host six supporting events covering industry exchanges, technical seminars, and developer networking, allowing developers to "visit exhibitions by day and connect deeply at night."

Looking ahead, the Future Machine Domain will advance its "Ten Thousand, Hundred, Ten" plan, aiming to gather over 25,000 developers in 2026 and host nearly a hundred high-quality community activities, including technology bootcamps and embodied intelligence developer challenges, to energize the ecosystem.

As technology iteration accelerates, how can supply chain response keep pace? Liang Nan said that previously, companies in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region had to travel to the Pearl River Delta to source components when developing prototypes, with non-standard parts prototyping cycles taking as long as two to four weeks. Now, the "Machine Factor Works" robot supply chain rapid response platform built in Beijing E-Town consolidates fragmented supply chain resources, replacing traditional inefficient connections with a shared model. This allows Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei companies to stop "heading south for components" and achieve nearby core component sourcing with one-stop services. The platform offers a "12485 express service system": one-stop component selection through a full-category robot BOM (bill of materials), two-hour response, 48-hour delivery, and five guarantees covering selection, capacity, cost, collaboration, and implementation, providing enterprises with precise matching and ultra-fast supply chain support.

Additionally, practical application sites such as robot restaurants and robot elderly care stations serve as critical testing grounds linking robotics R&D with commercial deployment. Riding the fast track of robotics industry growth, Beijing E-Town is exploring an "expressway from laboratory to market" through its full-chain "exhibition-research-production-application" service model.

Ma Ning, deputy director of the Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Bureau of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, stated that in the future, Beijing E-Town will continue to strengthen its system of "competition-driven, scenario-empowered, platform-supported" development, creating a batch of high-value scenarios to attract more companies and accelerate the integration of robotics across industries.
