On August 15th, at the World Humanoid Robot Games, Unitree Technology robots swept all championships in the track and field events on the opening day. Lingyi Technology (Beijing Lingyi Technology Co., Ltd.) won the 1500-meter race championship, while Gaoyi Technology (Shanghai Gaoyi Technology Co., Ltd.) claimed the 400-meter race title. Both Lingyi Technology and Gaoyi Technology are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Unitree Technology.

"Everyone knows that we've been heavily criticized online in recent months, which has been really unbearable for us, so we really hope to achieve better results," Unitree Technology founder Wang Xinxing candidly stated in a post-race interview. He expressed hopes that Unitree robots would achieve more breakthroughs in the second half of this year and next year.

"This is our first time participating in such competitions, so we have relatively little experience. Originally, our robots could have tapped into more potential performance," Wang noted.

The competition rules stipulated that completing races without operators would receive certain coefficient bonuses. "We initially considered going without operators, but I thought we were running quite fast already. I didn't expect we were still a bit overconfident," Wang pointed out. He explained that the Unitree H1 can run completely autonomously, but Unitree pursued ultimate speed, where having operators could deliver better performance. However, the downside is that it's quite taxing on colleagues, as operators running alongside the robots experience severe physical exhaustion.

"Next time we'll definitely go fully autonomous - that's not difficult for us," Wang stated. He mentioned that the competition was very intense, with each colleague handling a heavy workload. He expressed deep gratitude for his team's dedication, noting that some colleagues even fell ill at the hotel.

At the event, he even engaged in "creative recruiting," mentioning that the team is severely understaffed and actively seeking talented individuals.

Regarding the significance of the two gold medals for Unitree, Wang believes this has driven progress across the entire industry. "All teams present experienced moments of glory. Previously, we didn't have such a large platform to showcase ourselves, which is exciting for everyone."

He believes that every company and individual must pursue self-improvement, with breakthroughs in new technologies and products required monthly, semi-annually, and annually. For all companies, the greatest competitor is always oneself - this is an eternal challenge.
