在华纳兄弟探索公布与奈飞合作协议后不久，派拉蒙全球随即发起对前者的敌意收购。埃夫隆强调："我们更倾向于通过董事会以建设性方式达成交易，但最终决定权在于股东。"
这位重量级民主党捐助者同时预测，今年中期选举前将出现大型交易窗口期。他解读称，特朗普政府"对符合要求的交易持友好态度，与规模无关"。若民主党如预期在秋季选举中取得进展，埃夫隆认为监管审批将引发更多"观点交锋式"的辩论。
