The Shanghai Changning District Tax Authority announced on January 21 that Shanghai Xunmeng Information Technology Co., Ltd., the operating entity of the "PDD" platform, failed to report tax-related information as required by the "Regulations on the Reporting of Tax-Related Information by Internet Platform Enterprises." The tax authority ordered the company to rectify the issue within a specified period.
Although the company initiated corrective actions, it failed to complete them within the stipulated deadline. Consequently, the authority imposed a fine of 100,000 yuan on "PDD" in accordance with laws and regulations.
According to the announcement, following the implementation of the "Regulations on the Reporting of Tax-Related Information by Internet Platform Enterprises" in 2025, "PDD" did not submit the required tax information for platform merchants and workers for the third quarter of 2025. In November 2025, the tax authority issued a formal notice ordering the company to correct the violation by a specified date, which it failed to meet.
As a result, the Shanghai Changning District Tax Bureau levied a 100,000 yuan fine on "PDD" in strict compliance with the law.
