Recently, Liu Qiangdong, founder of JD.com, attended the APEC Summit in South Korea with his wife, Zhang Zetian.
During the event, an entrepreneur captured a photo of the couple—marking their first public appearance together since their trip to Malta in May earlier this year.
At the summit, the two sat side by side. Liu was seen frequently checking his phone or reviewing meeting materials with a furrowed brow, while Zhang remained attentive, occasionally adjusting her hair or whispering to Liu.
What apparently upset Liu was a particular photo showing him looking down with a tense expression.
In a social media post, Liu humorously addressed the photo, jokingly blaming it for making him "lose confidence in front of my wife." His lighthearted reference to Zhang as "wife" also dispelled recent rumors about their relationship.
