肉类加工巨头JBS决定关闭其位于加州的一家小型加工厂，该工厂负责为超市切割和包装肉类产品。
该工厂的关闭将导致约370个职位被裁撤，这一决定是在竞争对手泰森食品关闭其在内布拉斯加州的一家大型牛肉屠宰厂、裁员3200人不到一个月后作出的。美国肉类加工商正面临压力，由于美国牛只短缺，他们在牛肉加工方面损失惨重。
JBS是美国最大的牛肉加工商，公司表示，位于加州河滨的工厂并不屠宰任何牛只，而是处理各种类型的肉类。此次关闭是JBS努力重整其即食肉类业务并简化运营的一部分。JBS的股票在周五上涨约1%。
该公司表示，将把生产转移到其他设施，并且员工可以调动到其它工厂的职位。JBS正在爱荷华州建设两家新的肉类加工厂。
