According to a report from the Sichuan Daily, the provincial government has officially released the "15th Five-Year Plan for Natural Resources Protection and Utilization in Sichuan Province". This newly issued plan sets clear objectives for the province's natural resource management over the next five years.

By 2030, the plan establishes firm targets to safeguard agricultural land and ecological zones. Specifically, cultivated land in Sichuan must remain at or above 75.425 million mu, and permanent basic farmland protection must be held steady at over 63.069 million mu. Simultaneously, the area designated under ecological protection red lines is required to stay above 148,500 square kilometers.

On the front of mineral exploration and extraction, Sichuan is set to intensify its new round of strategic breakthroughs in mining. The targets for 2030 include the discovery of 10 new large and medium-sized strategic mineral deposits. In terms of production capacity, the annual mining volume of vanadium-titanium magnetite is projected to reach more than 50 million tonnes, while the yearly output of lithium ore is expected to exceed 3.5 million tonnes.
