Former US President Donald Trump stated that the government shutdown resulted in a loss of "at least two percentage points" to the US GDP. Trump made the remarks in a post on Truth Social ahead of the release of the fourth-quarter GDP data on Friday. The shutdown referenced by Trump appears to be the 43-day government shutdown that began in October of last year.
