BCI Group Showcases Datong Vertical Integration Model at COP30, Supporting Computing Industry in China's 2035 Climate Goals

On November 11 local time in Brazil, the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) continued its proceedings. Ju Jing, founder and CEO of BCI Group, was invited to participate in a high-level UN press conference, where she emphasized China's updated 2035 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) announced in September. By 2035, China aims to reduce its economy-wide net greenhouse gas emissions by 7%-10% from peak levels, increase non-fossil energy consumption to over 30% of total energy use, and expand installed wind and solar power capacity to at least six times 2020 levels, targeting 360 GW.

In this process, computing infrastructure enterprises must prioritize carbon reduction and net-zero commitments. Only through vertical integration of key industrial chain elements—such as energy, computing power, and equipment—along with deep collaboration with host cities, can the sector achieve sustainable development while supporting regional industrial upgrades and green transitions.

Over the past seven years, BCI Group’s founding team has pioneered the "Datong Vertical Integration Model" in Shanxi Province, transforming the city’s computing infrastructure industry from scratch into a multi-county, diversified industrial chain. Adhering to ESG principles, BCI Group has established a next-generation zero-carbon computing infrastructure cluster, aiding Datong’s shift from a coal-dependent economy to a computing hub.

In renewable energy adoption, BCI Group’s facilities leverage a self-built "wind-solar-storage" hybrid power base located 20 km away, directly supplying clean energy to computing loads. Over a 25-year cycle, this project will provide over 80 billion kWh of green electricity, cutting cumulative CO2 emissions by 10 million metric tons to achieve "zero-carbon computing."

Through vertical integration innovation, BCI Group repurposes waste heat from computing centers—combining surplus green energy with heat recovery—to warm local communities. It also implements water recycling systems, becoming the industry’s first to adopt surface-water solutions for eco-friendly resource use.

BCI Group has further integrated with Datong’s industrial base by deploying prefabricated equipment modules, training local workers in energy, computing, and construction sectors. The company employs nearly 1,000 local staff, registers all entities locally, and drives strategic investments to solidify Datong’s computing ecosystem.

Globally, BCI Group has participated in three consecutive UN climate conferences. At COP28 in Dubai, it debuted its "Super Energy Complex" sustainable computing solution; at COP29 in Baku, it showcased Datong’s cross-sector vertical integration model. This year in Belém, BCI highlights its Datong pilot’s climate and ESG achievements.

Ju Jing stated that BCI Group aims to mobilize broader industry collaboration to support China’s NDCs while demonstrating scalable solutions for developing nations pursuing computing equality and climate accountability.
