Robot Industry Revenue Reaches 165.5 Billion Yuan in H1, Up 24.5% Year-on-Year

At the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Robot Conference on August 19, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xin Guobin announced that the revenue of enterprises above designated size in the robot industry is projected to surpass 300 billion yuan in 2025, with an average annual growth rate exceeding 20% over the past five years.

Xin noted that in the first half of this year, revenue for these enterprises reached 165.5 billion yuan, marking a 24.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Robot technology and products have been widely applied across various sectors of the national economy and social development, emerging as a key driver of high-quality growth.

He further stated that efforts will focus on critical components and embodied intelligence, integrating the innovation chain of industry, academia, research, and application. The ministry encourages collaborative research between domestic and foreign institutions and enterprises, aiming to develop a range of advanced, user-friendly, and intelligent robot products.

The ministry will also prioritize industries with broad application potential and strong demonstration effects, such as agriculture, healthcare, elderly care, and emergency response. It plans to organize paired innovation projects, field application validation, and promotion of mature use cases, accelerating the iteration and upgrade of new technologies and products through large-scale application in new scenarios.
