Newmont Corp (NEM.AU) shares plummeted 6.95% during intraday trading on Friday following a fatal incident at one of its mining operations.
The sharp decline came after the company reported that a worker had died following an incident at its Tanami mine in the Northern Territory. Newmont has suspended all operations at the Tanami mine and is providing full support for the ongoing investigation into the tragedy.
