  • This is the seventh consecutive month that Xiaomi EV has seen monthly deliveries exceed 20,000 units.

  • Customers ordering the regular SU7 now will still have to wait about 40 weeks for delivery.

Xiaomi's electric vehicle (EV) unit Xiaomi EV maintained strong deliveries last month, as its performance continued to be constrained by production capacity.

Xiaomi EV delivered over 28,000 units in April, it announced today on Weibo.

As it has done for the past few months, Xiaomi EV did not provide specific numbers like other local EV makers.

This is the seventh consecutive month that Xiaomi EV has seen monthly deliveries exceeding 20,000 units, but it's worth noting that this is slightly lower than March's "over 29,000 units".

Xiaomi EV officially launched the SU7 electric sedan on March 28, 2024, a competitor to Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model 3.

The SU7 is available in three variants -- Standard, Pro, and Max -- with starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($29,690), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.

Deliveries of the Standard and Max versions of the SU7 began in April 2024, and deliveries of the SU7 Pro began in May 2024.

On February 27, Xiaomi officially launched the SU7 Ultra, the company's electric sedan with 1,548 Ps of maximum horsepower based on the regular SU7.

The SU7 Ultra starts at RMB 529,900 and deliveries begin on March 2.

In addition to the SU7 and SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi is expected to launch the YU7, an electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) that will compete with Tesla's Model Y, in June or July.

For Xiaomi EV, the current bottleneck for its deliveries remains factory capacity.

Customers ordering any of the regular SU7 variants now still have to wait about 40 weeks for deliveries, higher than the about 30 weeks at the model's initial launch last year, according to CnEVPost's daily monitoring.
