谷歌旗下DeepMind公司的首席执行官表示，能够在任何任务上与人类比肩的人工智能目前仍有一段距离，但它成为现实只是时间问题。
周一，Demis Hassabis在DeepMind位于伦敦的办公室举行的一次简报会上表示，他认为通用人工智能（AGI）——即与人类一样聪明甚至比人类更聪明的人工智能——将在未来五到十年内开始出现。
Hassabis称：“我认为如今的人工智能系统还非常被动，而且仍有很多事情它们无法做到。但我认为在未来五到十年里，许多这样的能力将会开始显现，我们也将朝着我们所说的通用人工智能迈进。”
他将通用人工智能定义为“一种能够展现出人类所能具备的所有复杂能力的系统”。
他还表示：“我们还没有完全达到那个程度。这些系统在某些方面非常出色，但还有其他一些事情它们目前还做不到，在实现通用人工智能之前，我们仍有大量的研究工作要做。”
