SHOUGANG LANZA (02553) saw its share price climb more than 10% in the afternoon trading session. As of the latest update, the stock was trading 10.15% higher at HK$19.53, with a turnover of HK$11.5582 million.
The surge comes on the heels of a significant corporate milestone. On September 15, Shougang's 10,000-tonne scale industrial trial project for carbon dioxide capture from blast furnace gas was officially commissioned at the Jingtang Company plant. The system is currently operating stably, achieving a carbon dioxide removal rate exceeding 95%.
This project represents a key collaborative achievement between Shougang and Rio Tinto Group, focusing on deep carbon reduction within the steel industry, supporting the nation's "dual carbon" goals, and actively addressing climate change challenges.
In a separate development, SHOUGANG LANZA has officially been included in the Stock Connect program, which took effect on September 7. This inclusion into Stock Connect is expected to help the company further optimize its investor structure, enhance share liquidity, and bolster its brand value, creating a more favorable capital market environment for its long-term growth.
Notably, SHOUGANG LANZA made its debut on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on June 3. Within just three months of listing, the company has already secured inclusion in several Hang Seng Index series and the Stock Connect scheme.
