SEC指出，在Egan-Jones申请评级资产支持证券的过程中，发现其中存在不实之处。这类结构化投资产品，正日益受到保险公司的青睐。SEC进一步披露，作为申请材料的一部分，两家大型投资者声称，过去三年一直依赖Egan-Jones的资产支持证券评级。然而，实际情况是，Egan-Jones在那段被投资者引用的三年完整时期内，并未真正发布过任何资产支持证券的评级结果。
