费尔南德斯指出，A321neo机型优异的燃油效率和延程性能，使其特别适合连接东南亚与亚非欧大陆新兴航空枢纽。新航线将避开传统枢纽机场，直接对接次级城市的出行需求，有望为旅客提供更具性价比的跨境出行方案。
此次航线拓展计划与亚航机队现代化战略紧密衔接。A321neo作为单通道客机中航程最远的型号，其2，000海里的最大航程足以覆盖从吉隆坡至东非沿海城市的直飞需求。分析师认为，该举措或将重塑亚洲廉价航空跨洲运营的商业模式。
