Recently, the Maoming Branch of the Guangdong Special Equipment Inspection Institute collaborated with the Maoming Municipal Market Supervision Administration to conduct a supervisory inspection of two in-service elevators at a hotel hosting the Provincial Games. The local market supervision office also participated in the coordinated inspection.

Following the "Provincial Games and Paralympic Games Special Equipment Safety Assurance Plan" and the "Elevator Supervision Inspection and Periodic Inspection Rules," the inspection team adopted a dual-track approach, combining technical inspection with regulatory verification. Key technical personnel from the Maoming Inspection Institute focused on verifying core safety components, including the car speed governor-safety gear linkage, door locking devices, buffers, and emergency operation systems for machine-room-less elevators, checking each item for potential hazards. Simultaneously, inspectors reviewed the Special Equipment Usage Registration Certificate, operator qualifications, daily inspection logs, maintenance records, and elevator emergency response plans. The on-site inspection also simulated emergency rescue response tests for entrapment scenarios.

For issues identified during the inspection, the team issued rectification notices to the hotel management and maintenance units on-site, specifying "personnel, responsibility, and timeline" requirements. The Yudu Market Supervision Office will track the closure of these issues, ensuring all items are resolved before the opening of the Provincial Games and Paralympic Games.

Since the preparations for the Provincial Games entered the final sprint phase, the Maoming Inspection Institute has coordinated with various regulatory levels to conduct systematic, rolling inspections of elevators in competition venues and hotels. This approach aims to prevent equipment from operating with defects and to enhance the rapid emergency response mechanism for elevator entrapments, thereby safeguarding the safety of special equipment for the two major events.
