Former CATL Executive President Zhu Wei Joins Horizon Robotics, Yu Kai Cites Shared Mission and Vision

On February 9, 2026, Horizon Robotics signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CATL's subsidiary, Contemporary Amperex Technology (Shanghai) Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "CATL Intelligent"). The two companies will focus on the intelligent upgrade needs of new energy vehicles, aiming to provide global automakers and end-users with an outstanding intelligent mobility experience characterized by high intelligence and safety.

It is noteworthy that the signing ceremony was represented by Horizon Robotics President Zhu Wei and CATL Intelligent Managing Director Yang Hanbing. This event also marked the first public appearance of Horizon Robotics' newly appointed President Zhu Wei.

In response, Horizon Robotics Founder and CEO Yu Kai stated via Weibo that they have come together due to a shared mission and vision.

According to available information, Zhu Wei earned his bachelor's degree in Precision Instrumentation from the University of Science and Technology of China and holds an MBA from Yale School of Management. He previously worked at CATL for eight years, serving as Executive President responsible for passenger vehicle and overseas energy storage businesses. Prior to that, he held the position of Vice President at Valeo China, where he oversaw automotive comfort and driver assistance systems.
