The Chief Executive Officer of German chipmaker Infineon Technologies AG stated that the company is well-positioned to benefit from the anticipated market surge in microchips for future humanoid robots.
According to a report citing comments made by Infineon CEO Jochen Hanebeck on Wednesday, "This has the potential to become a growth market similar to the current high-performance semiconductors used in AI data centers."
He added that Infineon already produces several types of microchips suitable for humanoid robots, partly due to expertise gained from its existing autonomous driving business, which requires only limited investment in new internal technology development.
