At a State Council Information Office press conference on September 10th, the Deputy Director of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, Cong Lin, outlined the agency's key objectives for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030). He stated that the administration will take an integrated approach to managing risk prevention, strengthening supervision, and promoting high-quality development.

The administration plans to steadily advance risk controls in key sectors, with a focus on the orderly and effective resolution of risks associated with small and medium-sized local financial institutions. The primary goal is to firmly uphold the bottom line of preventing systemic "explosions" or failures.

Furthermore, the regulator intends to comprehensively implement its "five major supervisory functions," ensuring that oversight is rigorous, decisive, and clearly defined. To support the real economy, financial institutions will be encouraged to coordinate their efforts on the "five key areas" of financial services. This includes enhancing support and service guarantees for major national strategies, critical sectors, and underdeveloped areas.

In addition, the administration will continue to strengthen the Party's leadership within the financial sector and improve the professional capabilities of financial regulators. Efforts will be made to deepen international cooperation and align with global financial regulatory standards, contributing to the stability and innovation of the broader financial system.
