据知情人士透露，日本三井住友银行（SMBC）已向印度储备银行（RBI）提交申请，计划收购印度Yes银行额外4.9%股份。若交易获批，其持股比例将接近但不超过25%的监管上限。
今年5月，Yes银行曾发布公告称，三井住友银行斥资16亿美元收购该行20%股权。目前印度银行业监管机构RBI正在审查此项交易，尚未作出最终批复。由于交易细节涉及商业机密，相关知情人士要求匿名。
另据彭博社报道，三井住友银行正考虑以11亿美元收购凯雷投资集团等少数股东持有的5%股权，并可能认购约6.8亿美元可转换债券以支持该行发展。但该追加投资计划及债券认购方案尚未获得独立验证。
受此消息影响，Yes银行股价盘中一度上涨3.3%，最终收涨2.3%。截至发稿，Yes银行、RBI及三井住友银行均未就相关问询作出回应。
