The 28th Beijing International High-Tech Expo - Future Industries Promotion Conference was held in Beijing from May 8th to 9th, 2026. Ge Yongle, Deputy General Manager of Yunchu Shenchu Technology, attended and delivered a speech.
The following is a transcript of the speech:
Ge Yongle: I will now present an overview of our company's situation. As is well known, Yunchu Shenchu Technology has consistently been a leader in the innovation and practical application of embodied intelligence in industry. Today's presentation is primarily divided into four sections:
First, the background of artificial intelligence and the development of legged robots. This progression can be broadly traced back to 2016 when AlphaGo defeated world Go champion Lee Sedol. Currently, the development of AI is mainly divided into two categories: one is AI that accelerates the virtual world, and the other is our company's primary focus—"AI + the physical world." It is worth noting that as early as 2020, Yunchu Shenchu utilized AI and artificial intelligence technologies to control robots, with related achievements featured on the cover of the journal "Science Robotics."
Second, the technological advancements in legged robots driven by AI. Currently, mainstream biomimetic robot control is mainly divided into two categories: model predictive control (MPC) and reinforcement learning control. The prevailing trend is control based on reinforcement learning. Driven by AI, legged robots have demonstrated exceptional adaptability and off-road capabilities across various complex terrains. This is our company's latest generation product—the "Bobcat M20" series. You can watch this video, which showcases the performance of the wheel-legged composite biomimetic robot on surfaces like beaches and riverbanks. Compared to four-wheel-drive vehicles or purely legged robots, it offers superior terrain adaptability and traversal capability on surfaces such as muddy riverbanks. Our quadruped robots have been widely applied in intelligent patrol and inspection scenarios across industries including power, energy, emergency response, firefighting, public security, and factories. For example, in typical outdoor substation scenarios, quadruped robots can efficiently perform inspection tasks. Last month, we launched a new generation of wheel-legged robots, characterized by high protection, high load capacity, and long endurance, capable of operating in environmental temperatures ranging from -30°C to 55°C. Due to their flexible posture, wheel-legged robots can not only navigate through narrow environments but also adapt to complex terrains like mountains and forests while carrying a load of 30 kilograms. Currently, the maximum speed of this wheel-legged robot has exceeded 9 meters per second, making it the fastest among biomimetic quadruped and wheel-legged robots.
Third, the three key technologies of legged robots + AI. The three main areas that are more familiar to everyone are: motion control, perception and navigation, and manipulation capabilities. In this context, I would also like to introduce that our company has released the world's first humanoid robot with a high protection rating. Our approach is to enable humanoid robots to replace humans in performing complex tasks in various complex outdoor environments, making a high protection rating an essential condition for outdoor operations. In the field of embodied intelligent navigation, we have accumulated substantial technology, primarily employing a VLA (Vision-Language-Action model) combined with end-to-end robot motion control. This allows robots to complete tasks in specific scenarios without prior mapping, such as in logistics delivery. This video demonstrates a process where, without a prior map and through VLA model training, a robot autonomously analyzes, judges, and completes tasks in an unfamiliar environment. In real-world application scenarios, the "robot brain" combined with the adaptability and obstacle-crossing capabilities of quadruped or biomimetic robots on complex terrain can replace humans in performing dangerous or high-intensity work across more practical scenarios. The third area is the dexterous manipulation of robots. For instance, our latest "Bobcat M20," equipped with a robotic arm, has already been deployed in some substations to perform high-frequency, essential operations, with the robotic arm autonomously making decisions from search to execution.
Fourth, Yunchu Shenchu Technology's exploration in industry applications. First, an introduction to the company's basic situation. Yunchu Shenchu focuses on the industrial application of embodied intelligence, with products covering humanoid and quadruped robots. Currently, we are relatively advanced in the commercialization of quadruped robots. During its development, Yunchu Shenchu has been awarded the Zhejiang Provincial First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress and is recognized as a national-level specialized and sophisticated "Little Giant" enterprise. We currently hold 190 patents, with 122 authorized patents, and have led the formulation of 2 national standards and 3 group standards. The company's founders include Professor Zhu Qiuguo and Dr. Li Chao from the Control Science and Engineering Department of Zhejiang University. We are a product development-oriented company, with R&D personnel accounting for over 60% of our staff, master's and doctoral degree holders exceeding 55%, and an average team age of only 29, making the team vibrant and energetic. In the industrial-grade market, Yunchu Shenchu is one of the companies with the most extensive deployment of industrial scenario applications globally, holding over 80% of the domestic market share, particularly excelling in the power and emergency firefighting sectors. Our clients are primarily concentrated in industrial application fields. The company's product ecosystem is mainly divided into three categories: "One Human, One Cat, One Dog." "One Human" refers to the world's first high-protection-level humanoid robot, DR-02, which we released; "One Cat" refers to the "Bobcat M20" series, the world's only wheel-legged quadruped robot capable of achieving scaled mass production and shipment; "One Dog" refers to point-footed robots represented by the "Jueying X30," as well as the "Jueying Lite3" series aimed at educational research and science popularization displays. We have achieved full in-house research and development of the underlying robot technologies, from core components to software control algorithms. We launch different product series based on the needs of various industries and collaborate with upstream and downstream ecosystem partners to provide clients with comprehensive, scenario-based solutions.
The following are specific application examples: Overseas, our industrial applications have been implemented in Singapore's power grid and have achieved small-batch shipments. Domestically, power scenario inspection is our area of strength. The video realistically demonstrates the application of robots in on-site power scenarios. We deeply integrate the "Industry Small Brain" from the end-user side with the robots to help clients solve patrol operation challenges in dangerous and high-intensity scenarios. Furthermore, in the firefighting field, where traditional methods rely on firefighters entering fire scenes with equipment, we now increasingly employ robot solutions to replace personnel in entering hazardous areas. Current robot operations are no longer single-unit tasks but rather cluster-based operations akin to special forces teams. The video shows robots responsible for sorting, as well as robotic dogs that follow rescue personnel to transport materials and detect toxic and harmful gases. For small fires, robots can be equipped with firefighting water guns; for large fires, water cannons with a range of up to 60 meters can be installed. In the public security field, robots can be used for intelligent patrols and counter-terrorism. We have developed "silent gait" technology, reducing robot movement noise to below 55 decibels. Robots can flexibly carry equipment such as capture nets to perform search and explosive disposal tasks and can also be applied in campus patrols and "last 500 meters" logistics delivery. Additionally, we have undertaken some public welfare projects to verify the stability, reliability, and safety of robots under extreme weather conditions.
Finally, an introduction to the company's cultural values. The core philosophy and mission behind Yunchu Shenchu's development of robots are "to help clients solve problems and create value for clients." We advocate for win-win cooperation and warmly welcome interested partners to communicate and collaborate with us.
Thank you all!
