Chongqing Aims for 100,000 Petaflops of Intelligent Computing Power in Chengdu-Chongqing Hub by 2030

The Chongqing Municipal Government recently released the "Chongqing Action Plan for Enhancing the Development Level of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle (2026–2030)." The plan emphasizes promoting mutual empowerment between artificial intelligence and the "Digital Chengdu-Chongqing" initiative. It aims to explore coordinated linkage of key elements such as computing power, data, application scenarios, and policy ecosystems between Sichuan and Chongqing, supporting AI technology research, application, and industrialization in the Chengdu-Chongqing region. By 2030, the intelligent computing power scale of the Chengdu-Chongqing computing hub is targeted to reach 100,000 petaflops. The city plans to establish more than 10 AI industry pilot testing bases, cultivate 20 influential vertical large-scale models and five major projects with national impact, and achieve leading daily token call volume in Western China.
