During the launch event for the 2026 next-generation SU7, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun announced that the SU7 Ultra prototype has set a new electric vehicle speed record on Germany's legendary Nürburgring circuit. The achievement places the vehicle among the top three globally on the Nürburgring's official speed rankings, with Porsche's 919 holding the top position.

Lei Jun attributed this remarkable performance to advanced technological developments, highlighting the electric motor as the most critical component. He stated that the vehicle's powerful performance stems from Xiaomi's internally developed super electric motor, signifying that the company has reached an industry-leading level in motor technology.
