US Energy Secretary: Strait of Hormuz Oil Flow Averages Near 13 Million Barrels Per Day

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said during an appearance on Fox News that the average oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz is close to 13 million barrels per day.
He stated: "Just last week, on one day, more than 20 million barrels of oil were shipped out through the strait, above pre-conflict levels." He added, "The current rolling average is close to 13 million barrels per day."
Wright said that current energy price pressures stem more from limited refining capacity than from the volume of oil flows. He said: "The pricing problem today is more about insufficient refining capacity rather than oil flow itself."
He also said that President Donald Trump is determined to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
