Shares of stablecoin issuer Circle surged another 9% in overnight trading after the U.S. Senate passed a landmark stablecoin bill, boosting hopes of wider adoption for a once-niche part of the crypto sector.
The bill was passed with bipartisan support, marking a turning point in the debate over crypto oversight, and a breakthrough for a sector long stuck in regulatory limbo.
The tokens have gained traction for offering crypto's convenience without its volatility. Pegged to currencies like the U.S. dollar, they aim to hold a stable value backed by reserves.
Some oil & gas exploration & production stocks jumped in overnight trading. Houston American rose 7.66%; US Energy up 4%; Indonesia Energy up 3.6%; Devon, Halliburton up more than 2%.
Rare earth shares rallied in overnight trading. The Metals Company, MP Materials up over 4%; USA Rare Earth up 1.4%.
