Samsung's next-generation mobile chip, the Exynos 2600, has entered full-scale commercialization, according to reports. The upcoming Galaxy S26 standard and S26+ models will adopt a "dual-chip strategy," utilizing both Exynos and Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. However, the premium S26 Ultra model will exclusively feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Ultimate Edition chip.

Industry insiders revealed that the Galaxy S26 series sold in South Korea, China, and select emerging markets will be equipped with the Exynos 2600 chip. Based on shipment projections, Qualcomm chips will account for approximately 75% of the total, while Exynos chips will make up the remaining 25%. A source familiar with internal discussions stated, "Samsung's mobile division prioritized cost considerations, encouraging the adoption of Exynos chips. However, after extensive internal debates balancing cost and performance, the company decided to use Exynos processors in the S26 standard and S26+ models for specific regions."

Samsung has been actively working to increase the share of Exynos chips in its Galaxy smartphone lineup, a move aimed at reducing production costs and improving the utilization rate of its semiconductor foundries. However, last year's Galaxy S25 series did not incorporate the Exynos 2500 chip due to low yield rates and stability issues with the 3nm manufacturing process.

This time, Samsung appears confident in the Exynos 2600. An industry insider noted that the company has focused on enhancing the chip's thermal management performance by optimizing GPU and NPU architectures, addressing the stability concerns that plagued the Exynos 2500.
