消息面上，美国劳工统计局18日公布的数据显示，美国2月生产者价格指数（PPI）环比和同比涨幅均明显超出预期，显示出美国通胀压力再度升温。交易员进一步下调对美联储年内降息的押注，美元指数小幅上涨，令黄金白银等贵金属价格承压下跌。
此外，美联储宣布，将联邦基金利率区间维持在3.50%—3.75%不变，符合市场普遍预期。另据最新公布的利率点阵图，美联储决策层预计今年将降息一次，并在2027年再降息一次，但具体时点仍不明确。在油价高企背景下，鲍威尔依旧保持了谨慎偏鹰的立场，他表示，美国通胀顽固、前景不确定性上升，若通胀无进展，将不会降息。他还提到，有若干美联储官员倾向于减少未来的降息次数。
