Sembcorp finalises purchase of 245 MW renewables assets in Vietnam

On Dec, 10 2025, Sembcorp Industries (U96) said its wholly owned unit, Sembcorp Solar Vietnam Pte Ltd, has completed the acquisition of about 73 per cent of a company that owns a 49 MW hydropower plant in Vietnam.
The deal represents the last step in Sembcorp’s broader transaction to secure between 73 per cent and 100 per cent stakes in four Vietnamese renewable energy companies that were indirectly held by GELEX Group Joint Stock Company.
Sembcorp first disclosed plans for the acquisition on Nov, 10 2023 and provided updates on Jun, 19 2024, Dec, 31 2024 and Jun, 25 2025.
