On May 29, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen announced that the United States has seized $1 billion worth of Iranian cryptocurrency assets. This action is described as part of the U.S. economic measures against Iran.
Secretary Yellen further stated that even if the United States were to lift its financial and economic sanctions on Iran, the process would proceed very slowly.
