Gansu Province has focused on advancing educational digitalization and building a learning-oriented society, centering on the theme of "making learning a way of life," and has deeply carried out province-wide activities for lifelong learning for all citizens and the construction of related systems. Looking back to 2025, Gansu Province held the opening ceremony of the Lifelong Learning Activity Week in Longnan City, with various cities and prefectures across the province simultaneously planning unique opening events, creating a vibrant atmosphere where "every month has activities, and every city has its own characteristics." To continuously deepen the "Scholarly Longyuan" mass reading campaign, the Gansu Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Trade Union Council, and local authorities launched special activities such as classic recitations, reading marathons, and "Reading Classic Books, Striving to Be Craftsmen of the Era." Places like Jiuquan, Qingyang, and Pingliang organized over 850 key reading events throughout the year, attracting 900,000 participants, through methods including series of reading promotions, building a "three-belts" model, and strengthening the development of reading leaders. Simultaneously, to precisely meet public demand in areas like parent-child interaction and health preservation, Gansu Province widely disseminated high-quality resources through multiple platforms; concurrently, the online "Longyuan Lecture Hall" emphasized the integration of local characteristics, continuously providing premium courses and live-streamed lectures. Platforms such as Jiuquan's "Lifelong Learning Network" and Wuwei's "Liangzhou Learning Network" demonstrated significant learning outcomes, cumulatively serving over 50,000 people and accumulating a total learning duration exceeding 120,000 hours. During the Activity Week, Gansu Province highlighted a group of "Learning Stars Among the People" and "Lifelong Learning Brand Projects" that originated from grassroots levels and were close to the public, promoting their exemplary deeds through multiple channels to stimulate enthusiasm for learning across the population. Concurrently held various themed activities were exceptionally vibrant: the Longnan Olive Oil Industrial Park conducted learning and experience activities to help enhance the influence of local products; the Gansu Open University for the Elderly launched themed study tours like "Tianshui Trip - The Hometown of Fuxi," supporting "cultural elderly care" through a "culture + tourism + education" model. Furthermore, the province also carried out targeted learning activities for different groups: for youth, it conducted thematic education on mental health, drug prevention, and AIDS prevention to guide them in establishing healthy growth concepts; for industrial workers, it implemented training for academic and skills enhancement focusing on local advantageous industries such as Jiuquan's aerospace support and Tianshui's characteristic handicrafts, training tens of thousands of people annually; for professional preparatory talents, it leveraged resources like satellite launch centers, the Mogao Caves, and the Qilian Mountains National Park to create in-depth study brands. While enriching practical activities, Gansu Province seized the opportunity presented by the development of educational digitalization, striving to build a closed-loop ecosystem centered on "educational digitalization—talent cultivation—industrial service," primarily led by universities. Lanzhou University developed an intelligent education cloud platform, Lanzhou Jiaotong University created online courses, Lanzhou Resources and Environment Voc-Tech College built a smart campus, and Gansu Open University established a full-chain digital learning system. These diverse and complementary platforms collectively strengthened the foundation of digital education. Additionally, Gansu Province actively built a digital urban-rural learning and education network characterized by "urban-rural integration, human-computer interaction, and full participation," relying on platforms like "Xuexi Qiangguo" and "Skills Gansu" to establish an adult education network and a resource library for lifelong learning that covers both urban and rural areas. In terms of resource development, Gansu Province integrated resources from the National Elderly Education Platform and the Gansu Community Education Network, supporting institutions like Northwest Normal University and Gansu Open University in actively developing digital resources such as online courses and micro-lectures, while exploring integrated application scenarios for "Artificial Intelligence + Education" in multiple locations to solidify the digital foundation for lifelong learning. Regarding service extension, digitalization comprehensively covered the fields of community education and elderly education; the "Gansu Community Elderly Education Network" delivered 4,580 culture and art courses, providing services to the elderly population over 3 million times. In the integration of industry and education, Gansu Agricultural University innovated the "Smart Agriculture + Talent Cultivation" model, establishing demonstration bases to promote the transformation of results; Longdong University aligned with the "East Data West Computing" project, becoming a national training and assessment site for digital technology engineers; a three-level (provincial, municipal, county) digital management platform for intangible cultural heritage achieved data interoperability, providing precise services for regional industrial development. Through systematic advancement, Gansu's educational resources have completed the transition from "paper-based" to "digital": learners can now engage in personalized study anytime, anywhere via smart platforms; a digital learning system covering all citizens and spanning their entire lifespan has been initially established, with integrated urban-rural learning platforms in the four major regions of Hexi, Longzhong, Longdong, and Longnan benefiting more people and effectively promoting the improvement of civic literacy and quality of life; the capacity of educational services to support industry has continuously strengthened, cultivating a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents with digital literacy, providing solid support for the high-quality development of the regional economy.
