A modern cultural landmark is taking shape at the Yicheng Academy construction site in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area's core Zone 69C4. The main structure now reveals its striking design—translucent glass curtain walls seamlessly integrated with streamlined aluminum panels, creating an illusion of being embraced by "metallic flowing clouds" that showcase contemporary aesthetics through interplay of light and shadow.
Strategically located adjacent to the under-construction Beijing Acrobatic Art Center and neighboring Beijing Acrobatic School, Yicheng Academy is poised to become a pivotal hub in the zone's public cultural services network. The project commenced construction on June 21, 2023, with completion targeted for 2026. Current progress includes interior finishing and outdoor municipal works, with the site bustling with activity.
As a key cultural initiative, the 23,000-square-meter complex features: - 3 underground floors (nearly 10,000 sqm) - 6 above-ground floors (over 13,000 sqm) - Total height of 42 meters - Land area of 8,000 sqm
A distinctive design element is the terraced rooftop garden, which will host ecological vegetation to create pleasant reading and leisure spaces for the public.
"Beyond being a reading space, Yicheng Academy will serve as an urban living room integrating cultural, educational, and recreational functions," stated a zone official. "This will enhance our business environment while elevating the area's cultural appeal and competitiveness."
Upon completion, this infrastructure project will significantly upgrade public cultural services, meet residents' demand for high-quality cultural experiences, and inject vitality into regional cultural development.
