Huadian Power International Corporation Limited (01071) has released an announcement regarding its operational performance for the first half of 2026.

As of June 30, 2026, the company and its subsidiaries achieved a cumulative power generation volume of 1.08 billion MWh for the first half of 2026, based on the consolidated reporting under Chinese Accounting Standards. This figure represents a decrease of approximately 10.65% compared to the same period last year.

The amount of electricity sold to the grid was 101 million MWh, reflecting a year-on-year decline of about 10.82%.

The primary reason for the drop in both power generation and grid-connected electricity volume during the first half of 2026 is attributed to multiple factors. These include better-than-expected water inflow conditions in regions rich in hydropower resources, a continuous increase in new energy installed capacity, and new coal power installations. These factors collectively squeezed the generation space for existing units. Additionally, lower-than-usual summer temperatures in areas where the group's assets are located reduced peak load demand, leading to a decrease in the utilization hours of thermal power units.

Based on preliminary calculations, the group's average on-grid electricity price for the first half of 2026 was approximately RMB 517.70 per MWh. This marks an increase of about RMB 0.91 per MWh compared to the same period last year, representing a year-on-year growth of approximately 0.18%.
