GDS Holdings Secures Approval for 1.85 Billion Yuan Shaoguan Computing Cluster Phase II

On March 17, 2026, the Development and Reform Bureau of Qujiang District, Shaoguan City, approved the filing for the second phase of the Shaoguan-GDS Computing Cluster project, which is part of the national integrated computing network and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area national hub node. The GDS Shaoguan Data Center project is located on Zhenxing North Road in the startup zone of Baitu Town, Qujiang District, Shaoguan City. The total investment amounts to 1.85 billion yuan, covering a land area of 96,966.61 square meters (145 mu) with a total floor area of 179,353.67 square meters. The project plans to install cabinet capacity of 200MW, with a power range of 14-18kW per rack. The second phase occupies approximately 65.6 mu of land, with a total floor area of 88,394.18 square meters. It is planned to install 123.4 racks, each with a power capacity of 14kW, resulting in a total installed capacity of 1.728MW. The phase includes the construction of two data center buildings, one comprehensive 220kV substation building, one auxiliary equipment building, and supporting systems for power supply, air conditioning and ventilation, water supply and drainage, and lighting. The project is scheduled to run from June 1, 2026, to December 1, 2028, with Shaoguan GDS Yunyao Data Technology Co., Ltd. serving as the construction entity.
