Over 116,000 New Enterprises Established in Humanoid Robotics Sector in First Half of 2026

Data released by the State Administration for Market Regulation on August 8 reveals that in the first half of 2026, enterprises in emerging industries and new tracks continued to gain momentum. The humanoid robotics sector saw 116,000 newly established enterprises, marking a 9.5% year-on-year increase. Service-related business entities stood out with notable highlights, while the transformation of manufacturing enterprises accelerated, resulting in a vibrant industrial development landscape.

Enterprises in emerging industries and new tracks maintained their growth momentum. In the first half of the year, the country registered 561,000 new enterprises linked to the "eight major emerging industries plus nine future industries," sustaining a stable growth trend. Certain frontier fields experienced explosive growth, with the generative artificial intelligence sector adding 55,000 new enterprises, a 28.0% increase year-on-year, and the humanoid robotics sector adding 116,000 new enterprises, up 9.5% from the previous year.

Service-related business entities showed outstanding performance. The service sector added 3.957 million new enterprises, essentially flat compared to the same period last year. Traditional trade and commerce businesses saw steady growth, with the wholesale and retail trade sector registering 1.737 million new enterprises, a 2.9% increase year-on-year. New consumption formats demonstrated vibrant vitality, with the "silver economy" industry gaining 31,000 new enterprises, up 16.0% year-on-year, and the cultural tourism industry adding 1.475 million new enterprises, maintaining a rapid growth trajectory. The number of "famous, special, excellent, and new" individual businesses reached 184,000. The high-tech service sector expanded rapidly, with the information transmission and software technology service industry registering 322,000 new enterprises, up 3.3% year-on-year, the inspection and testing service industry adding 16,000 new enterprises, a 43.9% increase, and the technology achievement transformation service industry incorporating 459,000 new enterprises, up 6.8%.

The pace of transformation and upgrading in the manufacturing sector accelerated. The equipment manufacturing industry moved toward higher-end segments, with the high-end equipment manufacturing sector adding 28,000 new enterprises, a 2.5% increase year-on-year. Among them, the intelligent equipment manufacturing industry grew by 6.4%, and the urban rail equipment manufacturing industry rose by 4.4%. The high-tech manufacturing industry displayed strong momentum, with the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises reaching 330,000 by the end of June, and 15,000 new enterprises established in the first half of the year. Notably, the spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing sector saw a 185.7% surge in new enterprises year-on-year, the optical fiber and cable manufacturing sector grew by 129.4%, and the integrated circuit manufacturing sector increased by 24.2%.
