COWELL Executes HKD 11.78 Million Share Buyback, Reducing Free Float by 0.06%

Hong Kong-listed optical component maker COWELL repurchased 506,000 ordinary shares on 16 September 2026, deploying HKD 11.78 million in cash. The on-market buyback was executed within a price band of HKD 22.76 to HKD 23.60 per share, translating into a volume-weighted average cost of HKD 23.28.

Following the transaction, the company’s issued share capital (excluding treasury shares) fell to 867.13 million shares from 867.63 million, a 0.06% contraction. Concurrently, treasury shares increased to 2.92 million, while the total issued share count remained unchanged at 870.04 million.

The repurchase forms part of the mandate granted on 28 May 2026, which permits COWELL to buy back up to 86.83 million shares. Cumulative purchases under this mandate now stand at 2.92 million shares, equivalent to 0.34% of the company’s issued share base at the date the authority was approved.

In line with Hong Kong Stock Exchange regulations, COWELL is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares or disposing of treasury shares until 16 October 2026. The board has confirmed that the buyback complied with all applicable listing rules and legal requirements.
