JW THERAP-B 2025 ESG Report: Governance Strength, Drug Innovation and Carbon-Cut Wins Spotlight

Shanghai-based cell-therapy specialist JW THERAP-B has released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, detailing a year of accelerated commercial growth, expanding patient access and material progress against mid-term climate goals.

Financial and Operating Performance • Revenue climbed 79.30 % year on year to RMB 283.70 million, supported by steady CAR-T therapy sales. • Gross profit margin reached 50.9 %, while R&D investment remained high at 33.9 % of revenue. • Cash and cash equivalents totalled RMB 503.10 million, underpinning pipeline expansion and manufacturing upgrades.

Corporate Governance and Compliance • All targeted teams achieved 100 % completion of compliance and anti-corruption training; 22 ESG material issues were reassessed. • Women hold 25 % of board seats; the eight-member board includes three independent non-executive directors. • No corruption cases or data-security breaches were reported during the year.

Product Pipeline & Innovation • Flagship CAR-T product Carteyva® secured Breakthrough Therapy Designation for second-line r/r LBCL and completed a supplemental NDA using in-house lentiviral vectors, advancing supply-chain autonomy. • Phase I data for relma-cel in systemic lupus erythematosus accepted by the NMPA, marking the first commercial CAR-T therapy to reach this stage in SLE. • Dual-target candidate JWCAR201 delivered 6/7 complete responses in early lymphoma study; additional next-gen programs JWCAR239 and multiple solid-tumour assets advanced pre-clinically.

Patient Access and Affordability • Carteyva® entered the inaugural NHSA Commercial Health Insurance Innovative Drug Catalogue; listing now spans 100+ commercial products and 105 “Huiminbao” regional plans. • Certified hospital network expanded to 166 sites, supported by a digital Chain-of-Identity traceability system and extended product shelf life to 12 months.

Human Capital • Workforce grew to 314 employees; women represent 57 % of staff. • Training coverage hit 100 %, delivering 4,100+ hours (13 hours per capita). • Zero work-related injuries recorded; comprehensive EHS drills and occupational-health programmes maintained.

Supply-Chain Resilience • Active roster comprises 432 suppliers, 413 of them in mainland China; 96 % have signed compliance undertakings. • Domestic substitution achieved for six key raw and auxiliary materials, including internally produced lentiviral vectors for commercial manufacturing.

Environmental Performance – 2021–2025 Targets Exceeded • Energy-use intensity fell 90 % to 0.31 MWh per RMB 10,000 of revenue. • Scope 1+2 greenhouse-gas intensity dropped 92 % to 0.15 tCO2e per RMB 10,000 of revenue; first-time disclosure of Scope 3 emissions (488.60 tCO2e). • Water-use intensity fell 87 % to 0.70 m³ per RMB 10,000 of revenue. • Hazardous-waste disposal compliance and carton recycling both stood at 100 %.

Industry Recognition Among several accolades, JW THERAP-B received the “2025 ESG Implementation Best Practice Award” at the China Finance Summit and the “CGT Star” from the Chinese Society of Gene & Cell Therapy, underscoring leadership in sustainable innovation.
