MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Appears in Benchmark Tests: Features "1+3+4" CPU Architecture with 4.21GHz Frequency

Previous reports indicated that MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 will be released earlier than Qualcomm's second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite, tentatively scheduled for September 22nd, one day ahead of its competitor's product. MediaTek aims to launch its new-generation flagship smartphone SoC before Qualcomm to attract more attention.

Recent reports show that the Dimensity 9500 has appeared in the Geekbench 6 database for benchmark testing, displaying single-core and multi-core benchmark scores of 2352 and 7129 points respectively. These scores serve as reference only, as rumors suggest the running frequency is lower than the configured frequency and is still under debugging. The first device to feature this chip is expected to be the vivo X300.

According to information available, the Dimensity 9500 is manufactured using TSMC's N3P process. The CPU section adopts a "1+3+4" tri-cluster architecture, featuring 1 "Travis" core, 3 "Alto" cores, and 4 "Gelas" cores, with frequencies of 4.21GHz, 3.5GHz, and 2.7GHz respectively. The GPU is Mali-G1 Ultra MC12, with L3 cache of 16MB and SLC cache of 10MB. It is equipped with a ninth-generation AI processor NPU, providing 100TOPS of AI computing power.

Additionally, the Dimensity 9500 supports quad-channel LPDDR5X memory with speeds up to 10667Mbps and supports UFS 4.1 flash storage, ensuring the SoC's performance can be fully unleashed.

Previous analysis suggested that Qualcomm's decision to release the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite earlier this year might be aimed at securing more high-end market share or applying greater pressure on the Dimensity 9500 through some form of competition to gain an advantage. However, MediaTek also hopes to establish a competitive advantage over Qualcomm, which is why it chose to release the Dimensity 9500 earlier than the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite. Related device models are expected to hit the market in October.
