根据周二发布的官方数据，上个月新建单户型住宅销量下降17%至折合年率61万套。接受彭博调查的经济学家预测中值为72.5万套。10月新建住宅的售价中值升至437,300美元，为14个月来最高。
飓风海伦和米尔顿袭击了美国东南部的部分地区，影响了美国最大住宅市场的销售，并拖累全美的数据。南方地区销量下降28%至折合年率33.9万套，为2020年4月以来最低。西部地区销量也下降，但东北部和中西部地区销量增长。
