Realord Technology Holdings (01196) climbed nearly 6% during intraday trading. As of press time, the stock was up 4.92% at HK$3.735, with trading turnover of HK$18.2987 million.
Realord Technology announced that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Longma Intelligent Computing for a potential collaboration to build an artificial intelligence data center in Malaysia. The two parties intend to explore cooperation on the project, which is expected to involve acquiring land in Johor, Malaysia and constructing facilities and related infrastructure specifically for AI data center development to support artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other high-performance computing applications.
The project is planned to have a total capacity of up to approximately 300 megawatts, to be developed in phases, with the first phase comprising approximately 100 megawatts. The company stated that this move represents Realord Technology's business exploration in the AI computing infrastructure sector under its "traditional industry + digital economy" strategy.
By scale, 300MW is equivalent to approximately one-fifth of Johor's current total data center capacity, placing it in the same league as the 280MW Johor project announced by Blackstone-backed AirTrunk in April this year, which involves a US$3 billion investment.
The company stated that if the project is completed as planned, it will rank among the largest AIDC campuses in Johor.
